The House

Glendene is a stunning, detached house with four bedrooms – two en-suite – situated on the banks of the River Esk, a stones throw from Whitby’s spectacular viaduct.

Comfortably sleeping 8 plus one or more travel cots if needed, Glendene boasts a large living area and beautiful, dining kitchen with floor to ceiling windows with superb views. With ample, private parking in the gravel drive, secured by double wooden gates. This is the perfect holiday home for a large family, group or two families looking for very high class accommodation.

King size beds fitted with luxurious linen, a real fire open to both the lounge and kitchen, picture windows offering glimpses of the large, mature gardens. Take a walk down the private lawn to the River’s Edge and watch the seals playing and the salmon jumping but don’t forget something for the ducks and swans to nibble from around your feet. Every few hours the Steam Train puffs by on the opposite River bank, making its journey between Whitby and Ruswarp.

Location

We are approximately 1½ miles from the picturesque village of Ruswarp, where amenities include children’s outdoor play area, cafes, boat hire, miniature steam railway and much more.

Only 5 minutes in the opposite direction ‘down stream’ you will find the quaint fishing village of Whitby. Well known for its charming atmosphere, winding cobbled streets and hidden alleys. Visit tourist traps such as the Dracula Experience, Whitby Jet shops and of course, the Abbey, reached by the famous 199 steps, or simply relax on the beautiful sandy beaches.

Facilities

With a total of two baths, two showers and four toilets, there will be no waiting for a bathroom! All supplied with super soft fluffy towels – bliss!

The kitchen offers dishwasher, fridge with freezer compartment, double Range cooker and microwave as well as the usual utensils, pots and pans.

Included in the price is gas central heating, electric, Sky TV, a basketful of logs for the open fire, bed linen, towels and a lovely welcome pack on arrival.

To assist with anyone less mobile, one of the Master Bedrooms is located downstairs and features an en-suite with wet-room style shower (no door or tray).

Unfortunately, due to pale carpets we cannot accept pets.
